Reading - Ask Where the Good Way is (Jeremiah 6:16)
In this week's reading there is sound advice for us as we stand at the
crossroads of a New Year and contemplate the way we should take:
"Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the
ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will
find rest for your souls."
As we stand at the crossroads here are twelve spiritual road signs someone
sent us anonymously for the year ahead.
1. Develop Godly character : Inner Holiness, Seek God's Honour
& Glory & the humility of Christ - Rom.5:1-5
2. Spiritual discipline : Train to be Godly and abide in the Word
- Ps.94:12
3. Submission to the Word, the anointing & the Church : Reveals
our attitude, motivation & passion - Acts 2:42-47
4. Relational skills : Learn to listen to what people are really
saying before you help them & communicate better - James
1:19
5. Yield completely to God : His Voice, His Council & His Cause
- Eph.1:11
6. Allow God to work : "In", "for" and "through" you - Phil.2:13
7. Bearing fruit of the Light : Brings a rich harvest of Goodness,
Righteousness & Truth - Eph.5:9
8. Simple & pure devotion to Christ : Both in body & spirit - 2
Cor.11:3
9. Learn to be content in the Lord : Do good, be generous & willing
to share - 1Tim.6:17-19
10. Learn that Godliness is great gain : Consecration to Christ
leads towards inner maturity - 1Tim.6:6
11. Rejoice & live to please Christ only : Absolute dedication
to do God's Will - 2 Cor.5:6-10
12. Be crucified unto the Lord & the world : I no longer live for
self, but by grace through the faith in Christ's Love - Rom.6:6
