If God's name is Jehovah, then why has his name been omitted from the bible?

As we have already shown in the previous answer, it is not just His name. The more literal translation too would be Yahweh but actually nobody knows exactly how it was pronounced.

It is significant that in the NT we find that the God did not cause there to be a special word as there was in the OT and so He obviously did not mind the early Christians not using 'Yahweh'.
